Brain Hooks producer, film maker, actor comedian and director

EnVus:

What started your career in acting?

Brian:

I started taking classes, and getting in on audition early. If I would have knew how difficult it was before jumping into acting I  might not have done it. Being that I was so far into it, I ended up booking an independent film called “Phat Beach” than things started to snow ball from that point, so I was fortunate.

EnVus:

How did you get the nick name King of DVD’s?

Brian:

It came from the success of my independent films, I’ve been doing independent producing forever, my buddy Barry Bones and I made 5-6 independent films with a budget less than a combine total of 1 million for each all together. They have grossed over 10 million to date. No one was turning over revenues like that in DVD’s. I have to say it was a surprise to me as well. People were going to pick up their movies such as “Forrest Gump” and my movie “Nothing To Lose” along with it. We were just trying not to have to wait for anyone and just create our own work and projects. For some it was little under ground tapes and for the streets people love them. So I was really fortunate to have made so much money from the DVD’s.

EnVus:

Brian let talk about soul plane, some critics say this might have been one of the worst comedies ever?
